Dave was working all weekend, so the kids and I went to Shelbina on Saturday and (tried) to make my mom a nice dinner (she ended up helping, a lot!). Sunday started off with a nice breakfast, a trip to church, a fun lunch with lots of family (Maggie made her "Great Aunt Cindy" a chocolate pie - Aunt Cindy's favorite!) and ended in our favorite place...the Emergency Room.
You'll see the glaring wound in the pictures, but Sam flipped head first over the communion rail at church that morning and cut his head open on the ledge that the rail sits on. We had three nurses at my mom and dad's house for lunch, and all three worked on him, but by the end of the afternoon when we couldn't stop the bleeding, we ended up going to the University ER to get his head glued back together. He did great...just laid there and "talked" on the cell phone.
*I think, to be fair to Aunt Cindy, that I need to say that she's NOT 81 years old. Maggie just loves to put candles in EVERYTHING and these were the only candles my mom had that day. Love ya Aunt Cindy!
