So one night, in an effort to let Dave sleep, I loaded up the kids and took them to Down on the Farm, sponsored by Parents as Teachers. It was sort of a flop. And I'll take the blame for some of that. I talked it up and said there would be all kinds of animals for them to pet. Little did I know, that's not what Down on the Farm night is in Columbia. Long story short...there were lots of little hands on activities, but the only farm animals we saw included a pen with a couple of pigs in it that you couldn't touch and a plastic tub with some baby chicks (which they did pet - and thought that was pretty cool). Overall, Maggie and Sam were not impressed. But, I got a couple of cute pictures!

Down on the Farm
Some days it just doesn't work for Dave to sleep in the morning and afternoon. On those days that he ends up sleeping in the afternoon and evenings before he goes to work, I'm usually looking for something to do OUT of the house, because it's pretty hard to keep Maggie and Sam quiet enough for him to sleep soundly.
