It was quite a production when Maggie, Aunt Deborah and Papa made Easter sugar cookies. It took them three days. They made the batter on Friday night, cooked them on Saturday and finally got them iced on Sunday before Easter dinner. I don't have a picture of the finished cookies, but they were "so beautiful" (said Maggie) with the colored sugar they sprinked on there.
Where did we get the colored sugar, you might ask...from the Amish store, of course. There's the best Amish store a couple miles north of my parent's house. Saturday morning, Maggie, Aunt Deborah, Papa and I loaded up and went shopping. Fifty dollars later, we had colored sugar plus a lot more goodies!

Here's Maggie all dressed for our trip to the Amish store on Saturday morning. She always tries to sneak out with those princess shoes on, and mean old mom always makes her put on "real" shoes!
